ASHEVILLE, NC -- Gov. Pat McCrory (R-NC) had an unexpected visitor at the home in Asheville.
McCrory tweeted video of a bear passing through the yard and said "What a cool encounter."
One of our neighbors stopped by to see us this weekend up in Asheville...what a cool encounter! http://t.co/Gyir7dhoEn— Pat McCrory (@PatMcCroryNC) September 3, 2014
The home, called the Western Residence, was built in 1939 and sits on 18 acres of property. Officials say the home hosts between 8,000 and 12,000 visitors a year - that doesn't include bears and their cubs.
