VIRGINIA BEACH -- Hundreds of people attended the first town hall meeting on the city's arena proposal Tuesday night.
City Council members and city leaders listened and answered questions.
For the city to build the arena, it'll need to pay more than $240 million.
While most people seemed pleased with the idea, that price tag is raising some concerns.
"We have a real challenge with the traffic in this area. It's a real challenge," said one concerned citizen.
"Just imagining the risk of the project. Is this taxpayer going to be on the hook if something goes not according to plan," said another.
City leaders say the next big step is to hear from the General Assembly on help with funding.
That will happen at the beginning of January.
