NEWPORT NEWS-Police say a couple is charged with two robberies in Newport News
35-year-old Mujahid Rashid and 25-year-old Regina Reed were caught shortly after robbing the Old Point National Bank at the intersection of Warwick Boulevard and Harpersville Road on Monday, police said.
The investigation police to later charge the pair with the August 7 robbery of the Family Dollar at 6000 Jefferson Avenue.
Rashid, who lives in Smithfield, is charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, four counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, abduction and entering a bank while armed to commit a larceny.
Reed, of Newport News, faces two counts each of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
No one was hurt in either robbery.
