CHESAPEAKE-- Police have made an arrest in connection to a double shooting in Chesapeake on June 23.
On Thursday, police charged 23-year-old Javonte A. Johnson, of the 2800 block of Parkside Drive, with two counts of malicious wounding and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.
According to police, an altercation occurred around 2:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of Candlelight Drive.
Five people left the area in a single vehicle and were followed by another party. The second party opened fire in the area of Providence and Campostella Roads striking the first vehicle.
Two of the five people were struck by bullets. They were transported to Sentara Norfolk General with non-life threatening injuries.
Johnson is currently being held in the Chesapeake City Jail without bond.
