October 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Town Point Park in Downtown Norfolk
This annual event will feature more than 100 creative and interactive activities, storytelling, hands-on workshops and educational displays, cultural experiences, arts and crafts, costumed characters and more. It's designed with children 10 and younger in mind.
NORFOLK-Virginia Bacon Festival
A kids area, vending area, bacon dishes from the region's top chefs, cooking demos and a bacon eating contest. The winner gets a one-year supply of bacon.

Sample chili and more, and there's plenty for the kids to do - fire safety demonstrations, children’s activities, exhibitors, and more. The event will provide valuable fire and life safety information in a fun and delicious atmosphere.

Central Library, 298 Cedar Road
The 10th annual one-day horror convention at the Chesapeake Central Library for fans of classic horror in film and literature; includes vendors, panel discussions, special guests, a costume contest, trick-or-treating for all kids in costume, and a horror movie marathon.
The library will close at 5:00 p.m. and re-open at 7:00 p.m. for the double-feature shock show "Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man" and "Horror of Dracula." Before the movies, thrill to live music by "The Sons of Frankenstein"!!!
Free to everyone, but you're asked to bring a donation for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
