VIRGINIA BEACH -- Five children were transported to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a school bus rear ended a parked car.
Officials say a disabled vehicle was on Salem Road waiting for a tow truck when the Salem Middle School bus slammed into it.
Five victims were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries; four were students on the bus and a 4-year old from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Vernetta Gibson of Virginia Beach, was issued a summons.
