4 children hurt when school bus and car collide in Camden Co., NC

CAMDEN COUNTY, NC-A bus filled with young children collided with a car Wednesday morning in Camden County, NC.

Trooper Jones with the North Carolina Highway Patrol says bus had 50 Grandy Primary School students aboard when the crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. 

According to authorities, the school bus pulled into the path of the car as it turned from South Mill Dam Road onto Highway 343.

Four children and the car's driver were taken to Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City for treatment of minor injuries; the other students were taken to school by another bus.

The bus driver was cited for failing to yield to the right of way.
