SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY -- Four people were arrested Thursday for making methamphetamines and federal authorities are carefully securing the scene.

Major Gene Drewery told WVEC.com the bust at three homes on Jerusalem Road came following a several months undercover investigation and authorities recovered three grams of meth and items needed to produce the illegal drug.

Southampton County Sheriff's deputies, members of the Meherrin Drug Task Force, Va. State Police, Va. Marine Resources and the Drug Enforcement Agency got to the homes at 9:00 a.m.

Authorities kept people away from the locations because of the volatile nature of the meth-making process.

Investigators say a garage contained the meth lab and some of the suspects were in a tan trailer just to the right of the garage.  By 1:15 p.m., crews had cleaned garage and two mobile homes.

Those arrested are:  Emmanuel Colendrino, Crystal Drake, Shelton Cobb and Johnny Ray Chapman.

Colendrino is charged with contempt of court for Sussex County.  Drake is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.  Cobb is charged with contempt of court, and Chapman is charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, possession of marijuana, and conspiracy to manufacture meth.
