Farm Fresh Supermarkets and 13NEWS join the Red Cross for "3 Minutes to Saving Lives," a contest that will give one lucky donor a Farm Fresh Shopping Spree.

Summer is a difficult time of year for blood collection.  With more people traveling and taking vacations and approximately 19% of the Mid-Atlantic Region donor base being made up of high school and college students, the loss is felt  during summer.   Blood can be donated every 56 days, 6 times a year.  Blood is perishable and has a shelf life of 42 days.

In an effort to boost what typically is a period of declining blood donations, Farm Fresh Supermarkets and 13NEWS are partnering with the American Red Cross to provide an exciting opportunity for one lucky donor.

All presenting donors at the select Red Cross blood drive below will automatically be entered to win a 3-minute Farm Fresh supermarket shopping spree and receive a coupon for 20% off at the Farm Fresh salad bar.

13NEWS anchor, Vanessa Coria, will also participate in a shopping spree which will benefit the local Foodbank.
