VIRGINIA BEACH -- Friday's rains poured in Virginia Beach, but by midday, conditions were returning to normal.

Amy Valdez with the Virginia Beach Fire Department told us there were no calls for service.

Drew Lankford, spokesman for Virginia Beach Public Works, says crews are scoping out the Sandbridge Road area and other rural sections of the city that could face problems.

The city was expecting nice weather for the many events being held at the Oceanfront and elsewhere in Virginia Beach.
