VIRGINIA BEACH -- A 21-year-old Virginia Beach Marine flexed her pipes before thousands of baseball aficionado at the New York Yankees game Wednesday.

USMC Cpl. Pashun Cannon sung her rendition of 'God Bless America' all while deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 7 in Afghanistan.

Her performance, which she recorded earlier this week, played during the seventh inning of the Yankees matchup against the New York Mets.

The Bayside High school graduate was contacted by the team after she sent a video of herself singing to the San Diego Padres.

The Yankees have also asked her to prerecord 'The Star-Spangled Banner' for a game later this month.
