Virginia Beach EMS rescues woman who jumped into Lake Holly

VIRGINIA BEACH— EMS crews rescued a woman who jumped into Lake Holly Sunday afternoon.

Workers tell 13News the woman jumped into the water and didn’t want to come out.

It took about 20 minutes for crews to convince her to leave the water and then five EMS workers hoisted her over the railing to safety.

Worried she may have suffered hypothermia, paramedics took her to the hospital.

Workers at the Sandpiper Inn say the woman was a guest at the hotel, but they're not sure why she jumped into the water.

Police continue their investigation
