VIRGINIA BEACH -- Vandals struck the Virginia Beach boardwalk light display just days before Friday's opening of the "Holiday Lights at the Beach".  Light bulbs along the railings of the boardwalk were unscrewed and smashed and the large Octopus between was 10th and 11th street was bent.

"Because of where we are we deal with vandals every year," said Beach Events Mike Hilton.

Word went out to the hotels along the strip to be alert.  And Virginia Beach Police are investigating.

"We are up and running and ready to open," added Hilton
