VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are searching for a suspect who carjacked a woman and then used her vehicle to commit a robbery.

Emergency dispatchers got a call about a carjacking around 5 a.m. on August 30th. The victim told police that while packing up her car, she was approached by a man. The man indicated he had a gun and stole her car. 

Roughly 15 minutes later the same suspect pulled into the parking lot of the Miller Mart at 627 Independence Boulevard. 

Police advise that the man approached the clerk as if he was making a purchase. He then forced the clerk to give him money from the register. He also took a charity donation box from the counter.

Police say he drove off in the stolen Acura,heading toward Town Center.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 to 40. He is between 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall and weighs 210 to 225 pounds. He was last seen wearing  green camouflage pants, a purple t-shirt and a faded black/brown Cheesecake Factory hat.  The suspect has a black tattoo on his upper left arm and his left ear was pierced.

The stolen vehicle is a Silver Acura TSX 4D sedan with Virginia tags WRZ-1959.
