Two workers shot in pizza shop robbery

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Two employees at a Chanello's pizza restaurant were shot during a robbery late Monday night in Virginia Beach.

Police say an armed man entered the restaurant on Aragona Blvd. just after 2:00 a.m. Employees told the man the store was closing but police say the robber charged around the counter and shot the employee. 

According to police, the robber demanded money and shot a second employee. The worker gave the man money and the robber fled the store.

Both victims were taken to the hospital. Police say their injuries are non life-threatening.

The robber is described as a white male, 40-45 years old with a thin build, weighing 140-160 lbs. He was wearing a gray, orange and blue ployester jacket, khaki pants, a gray winter trapper hat and plastic framed sunglasses.
