VIRGINIA BEACH -- Residents of Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake will likely notice a change in the taste and smell of their tap water.
From now until Dec. 16, the localities are changing the chemical used to clean the water. The water will contain chlorine instead of chloramines.
Customers may notice a slight taste and odor change in the water, but customers do not need to make any changes to their water-use routines, officials said.
On Dec. 16, the system will be switched by to chloramine.
