VIRGINIA BEACH -- Tonight several people got a small hands-on look at world hunger. At the Virginia Beach JCC, participants took part in a unique demonstration.
Folks were divided into groups and given different portions of very basic food.
It was all an effort to show how people across the globe deal with the hardship of hunger on a daily basis.
The volunteers also packed some 20-thousand meal bags to feed more than 120-people.
The organizers of the event say stamping out hunger is doable.
Stop Hunger Now along with the Jewish Family Service of Tidewater and the Foodbank all benefited from the fundraiser.
