VIRGINIA BEACH -- Virginia tourism officials want you to see one particular masterpiece before you see anything else.
A sand sculpture was commissioned by tourism officials to advertise their LOVE campaign.
It depicts a wave with a surfboard and the LOVE logo on top of the wave.
The most detailed part of the sculpture are the dolphins and the rocks along the beach.
The sandy artwork will be front row and center at the Neptune Festival between 7th and 8th Streets.
John Gowdy, a professional sculptor and retired Atlantic City firefighter, is leading the craft of the sandy monument along with three other teammates who are professionals from around the world.
The sand castles go on display Thursday at 2pm through October 9th.
