Cannon was one of two men who followed a woman into her apartment on Coltfield Court, where she was raped and robbed.

The jury recommended that Cannon serve 58 years in prison for the crimes.  Judge A. Bonwill Shockley will sentence him in September.

VIRGINIA BEACH – Police have arrested two suspects in the September rape and robbery of a woman on Coltfield Court.

Rolando Lamont Goodman, 26, was arrested Sunday about 8:00 p.m. at a Virginia Beach hotel.

William David Cannon, 25, was arrested shortly after midnight in the 7700 block of Harrison Road in Norfolk.

Goodman is charged with rape and abduction. Both men are charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police say the woman was assaulted and robbed in her home early on the morning of September 25th.

According to police, the woman got home about 12:30 a.m. and noticed two men walk past her building.  She told police they followed her into the hallway and then forced her into her home at gunpoint.

The woman said one of the suspects sexually assaulted her and the other man went around the apartment gathering valuables. Both men then fled the apartment complex.

Neighbors who talked with investigators say they had seen the men at the complex earlier.

Both suspects are being held in the Virginia Beach jail on no bond.

They have bond hearings Wednesday morning, said Macie Pridgen with the Va. Beach Commonwealth's Attorney office.
