VIRGINIA BEACH-- Police say a man who reported being robbed at a Va. Beach cell phone store on Monday made the whole thing up.

They say 54-year-old Ralph C. Nicholas falsely reported he was attacked at Boost Mobile in Pleasant Valley Marketplace, located on Boxford Road.

He said one of the suspects hit him a gun and demanded money and merchandise. He said he thought there was one white man and two black men involved in the attack, investigators stated.

Nicholas is charged with embezzlement and false report to police.
