RICHMOND (AP) — Charitable gaming in Virginia will be the focus of a public meeting in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, which will be hosted by the state Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs.
Charitable gaming includes bingo, instant bingo and raffles.
Possible topics at the 11 a.m. meeting at the Oberndorf Library could include current regulatory practices and how to manage the games.
In 2013, organizations contributed more than $25 million to charitable programs from charitable games.
The charitable program office is part of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The first meeting was held at the Virginia State Capitol Building in Richmond. The last meeting will be September 5 in Vienna.
