NORFOLK-- Several local businesses are organizing fundraisers for victims of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting.

Sunday night at 7 p.m. there will be a gathering at the Gloucester Library for a candlelight vigil.

And later in the week, several other businesses in the area are preparing to send cards and donations.

The Altmeyer Funeral Home told WVEC.com that they have "prepared a Tribute Memorial which includes cards, photos, flowers, memorial register book and candles."

They plan to send those items to the Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday.

Donations will also be collected at the Cinema Cafe Premiere Kempsriver in Virginia Beach on Friday. That event starts at 10 a.m. and will carry on through out the day.

Pizza Amore on Warwick Boulevard in Newport News will be taking donations and holding a fundraiser at their restaurant next Saturday and Sunday. All of the proceeds from their event will go to the victims of the school shooting.
