VIRGINIA BEACH-Va. Beach Police say a man tried to bribe an officer who stopped him on a traffic issue.

27-year-old Eric Dean Berry offered the officer money if he would "forget" the charges he'd face from the September 7 stop on Baker Road, said spokeswoman MPO Tonya Borman.

Berry, who lives in Newport News, was initially charged with possession of marijuana and issued summons for several traffic infractions to include operating a motor vehicle on a suspended operator’s license, she stated.

After the Commonwealth's Attorney office reviewed the bribery case, a warrant was issued. Berry was arrested in Suffolk on October 1 and turned over to Va. Beach Police.
