HAMPTON-A Hampton woman called 13News Now for help after learning Sona MedSpa closed abruptly this week.

Crystal Davis said she received an email late Monday afternoon saying the businesses in Newport News and Virginia Beach were closing effective immediately.  In the email, the company said it is “working diligently to make alternative treatment options available to you at a Sona MedSpa location in central Virginia.”

Davis said she was told she could travel to Sona MedSpa locations in either Midlothian near Richmond or Glen Allen, both of which are nearly two hours from Hampton Roads.

The sudden closure and long distance of the other facilities has Davis questioning if she’ll ever be able to finish the laser hair removal treatment she paid for.

Davis said she paid $300.00 for five treatments at the Sona MedSpa location in the Oyster Point section of Newport News. She had only received two of the treatments and had a third scheduled for next week. Now, she’s concerned she’ll never receive the treatments she paid for.

Repeated calls and emails to a company spokeswoman and multiple calls to the man who owns the Sona MedSpa franchise went unanswered.
