RICHMOND (AP) -- An investment group has made a $35 million bid to acquire the Cavalier Hotel property in Virginia Beach.
The 22-acre property includes the 86-year-old hotel and a newer sister hotel. It's part of long-running legal battle among members of the Dixon family.
Media outlets report that Fairfax County Judge Jane Marum Roush will consider the proposed sale in June.
Last September, Roush ordered the Dixon family's Buckingham County-based Disthene Group Inc. into receivership. The holding company controls the family's properties, which include the Cavalier Hotel.
The Disthene Group has asked the Virginia Supreme Court to block Roush's order. But Roush could approve the Cavalier Hotel property sale if all parties agree to it.
