VIRGINIA BEACH-Police say they've arrested a couple who stole purses from shoppers at three stores in Va. Beach.

Surveillance images show them leaving Walmart at 1149 Nimmo Parkway on August 19. That's the first of the stores where women had their purses taken from their shopping carts.

The second theft occurred August 22 at Food Lion on Sandbridge Road and the third incident was August 31 at Target on Upton Drive.

33-year-old Ryan Matthew Evans Sr and 31-year-old Lisa Marie Hahn-Evans, who live on Garth Court, were arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Larceny.

Meantime, police remind shoppers to never step away from shopping carts, which leaves valuables like purses or wallets unattended.
