VIRGINIA BEACH-- Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank Saturday morning near a shopping center.

A man armed with a handgun walked into a Bank of America branch around 11:41 a.m and demanded cash.

After a bank employee complied with the suspect's request, he left the bank and drove off in a vehicle that was in the parking lot at Pembroke Crossing Apartments.

No one was injured.

Investigators determined that the suspect's vehicle was actually stolen, but did not release any details to identify the vehicle.

The suspect is described as five foot nine, medium build and wore a black jacket, jeans, a ball cap and dark colored mask.

Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to call 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or can send information via text to CRIMES (274697) using VBTIP.

Information that leads to an arrest could result in a cash reward of up to $1,000.
