SUFFOLK -- Police believe kids firing BB guns could be responsible for damage to a Suffolk day care.
Small dents were found in a car on August 10 and then on three windows of Main Street Day Care, which is part of United Methodist Church, on August 27, according to police reports.
Damage was found on a door near a back stairwell and to windows in a side room connected to a classroom. Those windows are double-paned and screened.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink says BBs were found in the space between the window and screen and a few feet from the back door.
In searching the area, investigators found broken glass bottles, some with small holes in them, in the yard of a vacant house on nearby Grace Street. Klink says there's evidence juveniles had been in the area shooting BB guns behind the church on the property.
The investigation continues.
