SUFFOLK-- Police arrested a suspect in an attempted armed robbery that happened Tuesday night.

Justin Dashaun Macon, 21, from Norfolk has been charged with Shooting Into an Occupied Vehicle, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Attempted Robbery.

The incident happened around 10:42 p.m. Officers were on routine patrol on Shoulders Hill Road when they heard gun shots and observed two vehicles as well as several people behind a car wash at a Shell Gas Station in  the 3500 block of Bridge Road. 

When the people saw the officers they began to run.  A vehicle pulled out quickly and a felony traffic stop was conducted. 

The two occupants of the vehicle told police  that they were victims of a robbery.  There were two visible bullet holes in the vehicle they were driving.   A third subject was located on Shoulders Hill Road by responding officers and a gun was located at the scene.

Macon is in custody and the investigation is on-going.
