SUFFOLK-- A family of five has been displaced following a house fire Friday evening.

Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at a two-story home in the 2200 block of Simons Drive, in a rural area off of Indian Trail and Old Myrtle Road. The call came in at 8:25 p.m.

According to police spokeswoman Diana Klink, units found moderate smoke showing from the home upon arrival and the fire was under control at 9:07 p.m.

Klink says two adults and three children have been displaced, but no one was injured. The family will be assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental.
