SUFFOLK--Public transit patrons in Suffolk may soon get to ride one of the new 19-passenger buses acquired by the city.
Starting in July, the new buses featuring the Suffolk Transit logo and colors will hit the road.
The new buses buses have two wheelchair secure points.
The buses were purchased, in part, with a grant from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation and will be operated by the City’s transit contractor, Virginia Regional Transit.
Suffolk officials say they are also working to place bus stop signs at key stop locations with shelters at a few of those stops with the highest on-off counts.
