NORFOLK -Much of the WVEC-TV viewing area remains under a tornado watch.

For that reason, some school systems are cancelling activities.

Norfolk has cancelled all after school activities have been canceled-whether they're on school grounds or in a building.

In Suffolk, Tuesday night's PTA meetings and all after-school activities have been called off.

In Va. Beach, all after-school events and activities were cancelled because of the threat. However, Parks and Recreation after-school programs in schools are still on, officials stated.

13News Meteorologist Craig Moeller says storms that develop could produce locally heavy rain. While many areas will get .25"-.5" of rain, some spots could get over 1"-1.5".

In York County, Back-to-School Nights and athletic practices and competitions have been cancelled.

The Hampton school division decided to postponing all afternoon activities.
