SUFFOLK-- An airplane crashes near a rural landing strip after brake failure.
Police and fire officials say that they got a call shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday about a plane that crashed. When crews got to the scene, they found a 1943 twin-engine Beech 18/C-45 with it's front end wedged in a ditch, partially blocking the 900 block of Hare Road.
Investigators say that the plane never took off. The owner of the plane, John Mosby Williams of Florida, was conducting test maneuvers on the brakes when they failed which caused the plane to veer off the road.
Police say a person driving a tractor came to the aid of the plane owner.
The pilot nor the good Samaritan were injured in this accident.
