SUFFOLK--A tractor trailer and a Norfolk Southern train collided in Suffolk late Thursday morning.
It happened around 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Cohoon Road and Lake Meade Drive crossing.
The rear of the empty tractor trailer was sheared off.
Norfolk Southern spokesperson Robin Chapman told WVEC.com the 134-car coal train was heading to Norfolk and the company will cooperate with investigators.
Lake Kilby Road was closed between Indian Trail Road and Lake Cohoon Road and a detour was in place.
The road reopened around 4:00 p.m.
No one was injured.
