SUFFOLK-- A North Carolina woman has been arrested after she allegedly hit a young woman wearing a cow costume  in front of a Chick-fil-a restaurant Monday.

Katrina Lovett Boone, 38, of Sunbury, NC was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony hit and run.

According to police, Brittany Knight, 19, was hit by Boone in the 1000 block of North Main Street just before 11:30 a.m.

Police say Boone struck Knight as she crossed the drive-thru lane.  Police say Boone stopped briefly to find out Knight's condition and then continued through the drive-thru to get her food and then drove away.

Police say Boone later contacted the Chick-fil-a store and Suffolk Police regarding the incident.

Police explain that in cases where a driver knows they have injured someone, they are required to report their name, address, driver's license number, and vehicle registration number to the police or to the person struck and provide reasonable aid.

The store manager confirmed Knight was treated at the hospital and  was resting at home.
