SUFFOLK-A family of five was burned out of their home early Wednesday.

Suffolk firefighters were called to the 6400 block of Ashmeade Court, in the Bristol Shores neighborhood, around 6:15 a.m.

Everyone had gotten out of the two-story home by the time crews arrived and saw flames coming from the second floor.

There is a lot of damage to the second floor and attic area and smoke damage throughout the home, said City spokeswoman Diana Klink.

Because of the damage, the family can't stay in the house. They're being helped by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
