SUFFOLK-A man was arrested following an early morning stabbing at a house in Suffolk.
Police charged 34-year-old Jonathan Lamont Jackson of the 200 block of Pine Street with malicious wounding.
Police and the SWAT team were called to 265 Pine Street just after 4:15 a.m. Wednesday.
23-year-old Kendell Thompson was wounded and flown to the hospital, City spokeswoman Diana Klink told WVEC.com.
"Officers were interviewing people in the house and one of them has been arrested," she said.
Thompson lives on Jackson Street, less than half a mile away, and he should recover, Klink added.
Police reopened the roads in the area of Pine Street and Market Street around 9:45 a.m.
Jackson is currently being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
