SUFFOLK - A bomb threat was written on a bathroom wall at John Yeates Middle School.

The message was discovered around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a letter that was sent to parents.

In the letter, principal Daniel O'Leary said the message read, "Ima bomb JYMS on 12/13."   

O'Leary promised parents that those responsible will face criminal charges as well as school disciplinary consequences.

Extra fire and police officers were at the middle school today.

Kimberly Smith says her daughter didn't want to go today, but she told her that she trusts that the administration is doing what they can to protect the children.

Suffolk fire and police are investigating.
