Minivan Hits Truck
SUFFOLK -- 80-year-old Josephine Gwaltney died shortly after the minivan in which she was a passenger hit a truck that broke down on Pruden Boulevard Saturday afternoon. Investigators said the Ford F-150 was hauling firewood when it broke down in the right-hand lane of eastbound Pruden Boulevard (Route 460) near Windsor. A minivan, driven by Gwaltney's husband Wilfred R. Gwaltney, hit the truck from behind. Paramedics took Josephine Gwaltney to Sentara Obici Hospital where she was dead upon arrival. Wilfred Gwaltney was not injured. The driver of the truck, Danny Shelton of Windsor, was not hurt seriously, although he did go to the hospital. The crash shut down part of Pruden Boulevard for several hours. It reopened to traffic at 7:50 p.m.
