2 injured in three-vehicle crash in Suffolk

UPDATE: 1:00 p.m.: 1 eastbound lane open; both westbound lanes open.
A second accident involving 2 cars occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes. 2 people hurt

SUFFOLK- Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle accident in Suffolk.

Police say an 18-wheeler log truck, a large box truck and a van were involved in the 10:30 a.m. crash on Route 58 westbound near the Franklin Bypass.

Both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane were closed for rescue crews and tow trucks.

The two people injured in the crash are being treated for injuries that are considered not life threatening, police stated.

A detour was in place to divert traffic down Route 189/South Quay Road.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
