SUFFOLK -- Emergency personnel responded to a head-on collision in Suffolk Friday night.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Manning Road and Copeland Road, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.
The white Ford that was involved overturned and the male driver had to be airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
The female driver of the second vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was ground transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Klink said. She is expected to be ok.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of the involved vehicles.
The road was closed at the intersection for approximately two hours as the investigation continued and the vehicles and debris were removed from the roadway.
