PORTSMOUTH--The Virginia State Police were on the scene orf a single vehicle accident in Bowers Hill Wednesday night.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Interstate I-264 east bound just before the I-664 crossover.
The driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette lost control and ran off the road into the median striking a tree.
The driver of the car was air lifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General with life threating injuries.
A second occupant was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
