PORTSMOUTH-Two men posing as pest control workers are robbing homeowners.

On Wednesday, they convinced a woman living on Bender Court, a military housing community in Portsmouth, to let them inside her home, according to police.

"She thought it was OK because she was in military housing, she allowed them to come into her house,” said Det. Jan Clark.

Police say the men convinced the woman to go upstairs so they could spray for pests.

Instead, police say the men walked out of the house with her television.

Shortly after, police say the same men hit up two unoccupied military housing units on Sandra Lane, where electronics were also stolen.

Some people living nearby were unaware of the robberies, and say the property management should have notified them.

"It would be nice to know that people were dressed up as pest men coming around. Because I don't know what company they go through, so it could've messed me up or anybody else," said Rachel Rosas, who lives near Bender Court.

Police want the public to stay on the alert.

"If someone comes to your door and you didn't solicit them, please check their credentials, ask who sent them. Don't just let them in your house," said Clark.

The two men were last seen wearing tan polos and khaki pant, and driving an unmarked white van.
