PORTSMOUTH -- Police say nearly $15,000 worth of tools, computer equipment and a safe were stolen from the Portsmouth Public Schools vehicle maintenance building Tuesday morning.

According to police, an employee opened the business, known as Vector Fleet Services, located in the 3900 block of Burtons Point Road and discovered that the items were missing.

Police believe sometime after the business closed the night before, somebody entered through a rear window. The alarm system and camera surveillance system had been turned off due to the company transitioning to a new location.

Anyone with any information can call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text “Portsmouth” with your tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
