PORTSMOUTH (AP) -- A Portsmouth man has been convicted of setting a fire at the Portsmouth public library's main branch.
Media outlets report a Portsmouth circuit judge found 35-year-old Tyrone Donte Taylor guilty of an arson charge on Tuesday.
The Christmas Day 2010 fire began in the library's drop box and caused extensive damage to the rear foyer. Smoke and heat also damaged the front of the library and most of the library's 150,000 books had to be cleaned.
The library remains closed.
Taylor faces up to 10 years in prison. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 1.
