PORTSMOUTH -- A man was caught in the act of writing graffiti on the side of a Portsmouth business, police say.
Officers on patrol saw a man “tagging” the side of the building in the 1000 block of High Street, Det. Misty Holley told WVEC.com.
They chased after him and when they caught him, he had several cans of spray paint, she added.
Investigators searched the area and found three other buildings in that general area also had been hit.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, was been charged with four misdemeanor counts of destruction of property.
Investigators are checking to see if he is connected to other graffiti incidents in the city.
