Fast-moving storm brings tornado warnings, damage to area

NORFOLK -- A storm system moved quickly through Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina Saturday bringing high winds and downpours with it.

Damage included downed trees and power lines in several parts of the area.

Trees and limbs came down on several homes on Pine Grove Road in the Pinetta area of Gloucester County.

Areas of James City County saw similar damage.

The American Red Cross provided help to a woman and 5 children after a tree crashed into their house on Todds Lane near the Newport News city line.

Hampton Fire Division posted a danger sign outside the Fox Hill Athletic Association's building in Grandview which had significant damage.
