NEWPORT NEWS -- Police have arrested an ice cream truck driver who they say made inappropriate comments to a young girl and touched himself inappropriately.
Erick Alexander Pena-Carrillo, 33, of the 700 block of Dinwiddie Street in Portsmouth, was arrested at his home Thursday.
Pena-Carrillo is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent exposure.
According to police, around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, Pena-Carrillo was operating an ce cream truck in the 1000 block of Garden Drive in Newport News.
A ten-year-old Newport News girl told police that while she was attempting to purchase ice cream, the suspect made inappropriate comments to her and touched himself inappropriately.
The suspect's truck was later stopped by police in a different neighborhood and officers obtained his identifying information.
During the investigation, detectives identified a second ten-year-old Newport News girl who was also a victim in this incident.
After detectives identified Pena-Carrillo as the suspect, they obtained warrants and he was arrested in Portsmouth.
