PORTSMOUTH--Police say an employee was hurt during the robbery of a Portsmouth fast food restaurant.

Officers were called to the Hardee's at 850 London Boulevard just before 9:00 p.m.

According to police spokesperson Detective Misty Holly, an employee activated the panic alarm just before the two men took cash and left.

An employee told 13News Now she and three other workers, plus the manager, were in the restaurant at the time. She and some of the workers ran out the front door.

A 53 year-old female employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The restaurant was closed as police investigated the incident.
