PORTSMOUTH -- A woman died after her vehicle flipped over on Portsmouth Boulevard on Sunday morning.

Police say 65-year-old Francine Smith Harris of the 1500 block of Fleetwood Avenue in Norfolk died following the crash around 8:30 a.m.

According to Portsmouth Police, officers arrived to the scene and found a red Kia overturned.  Harris was unresponsive inside the vehicle.  She was transported to a local hospital, but officials say she died on the way.

A second vehicle, a green Oldsmobile, was also at the scene. The other driver did not require medical treatment.

Investigators believe the Kia was traveling west on Portsmouth Boulevard. The two vehicles collided when the Oldsmobile was turning from Martin Avenue onto Portsmouth Boulevard.

The impact caused the Kia to overturn.

The crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
